Completed in 2016 by Estúdio BRA, Cauman House is located 80 km away from Sao Paulo. It is a modern house designed for a family that consists of a couple, a son, a grandmother, and their pets. This house has three floors which are divided in a very clear way.
Design
This house is built in Jacarei, developed around a central area that is created as a place for gathering with friends in relaxing moments. It is not only a living place but also a cozy retreat for the family. The site is 500m² in size while the built area is 405m² in size.
Floors
This house has three floors that are divided in a clear way.
The parking space and warehouse can be found in the basement. The grandmother’s bedroom, service, and social areas are on the ground floor. The first floor consists of three bedroom and their balconies.
Structure
On the ground floor, the yard has a cozy environment that is perfect for celebrating special moments. This yard is designed with an organic hole inside a straight slab.
A fluid and curvy form is used to transit between the upper floor and the shape of the plants. The upper floor is one of the house’s highlights, a white cube with rectangular windows.
Details
On the ground floor, the walls are painted with a terracotta shade. The lightness of the house’s volume is suggested by its cantilever structure.
The landscape of this project is designed by Flávia Tiraboschi.
