VAPIANO by Finkernagel Ross: An Awesome Italian Restaurant with New Design Standards

Finkernagel Ross has been working with Vapiano in different countries, different cities, and different continents. It is an easy-going Italian restaurant chain that has its first Vapiano restaurant in the middle of London’s Soho. This first restaurant is completed in 2014. The working relationship between the architect and VAPIANO is changed since this early London project. The architect helps them to develop new design standards and also improve workflows.

The first project of the first Vapiano restaurant began in 2014. After this first project, soon the architect was working with Vapiano on a new restaurant in Brisbane. After that, the architect back to the UK and working in Manchester’s Corn Exchange. Since then, the architect has been worked with Vapiano in Berlin, Edinburgh, Glasgow, and in London again.

Since the early London project, the working relationship between the architect and Vapiano has moved and changed. In the early days, the architect is executive architects and project managers and now it is different. Vapiano brings Finkernagel Ross on board to help assess the feasibility and identify locations. The architect also provides a full cost consultancy from inception to completion, managing a diverse set of direct suppliers and contracts. This also includes developing new design standards and improve restaurant workflows.

The architect shares Vapiano overarching vision and it becomes crucial to the success of their projects. The architect also understands their brand and business, being there at the very starts and on opening day to make sure everything is right. Vapiano sees Finkernagel Ross as part of their business.
