Designed by Condon Scott Architects, a rugged backdrop of kanuka of the site can form a striking contrast with Hidden Hills Retreat. It is a contemporary house that sits at the base of Wanaka’s Mount Iron. This house is designed for entertaining in the summer months.
Design
This house comprises two pronounced wedge forms and it also steps down a sloped site with a dining room, kitchen, and open-plan living room in the main wing of the building. In this wing, there is generous floor-to-ceiling glazing that allows for stunning views of the lake and mountains beyound.
Spaces
The living spaces of this house open through bi-folding doors and stacking sliders seamlessly onto the wrapped deck and terrace that nestles around the form of the building. It is an awesome house designed for entertaining, transforming an ordinary house into a comfortable retreat in summer, and allowing effortless movement between the outdoor and interiors living spaces.
