Designed for a young family, House Erasmus is located in Gauteng, South Africa. It is a modern house designed by Hugo Hamity Architects and completed in 2002. As one of the best architectural designs in South Africa, this project shows that an elevated steel roof can allow more natural light to penetrate into the house.
The layout of this modern house centers around the double living area which is also in turn centers around the double-sided fireplace. This awesome house becomes one of the architect’s best architectural designs that can be found in South Africa.
On the ground floor, there are living areas while the feature staircase leads to the first floor to the four large bedrooms. The steel roof of this house is elevated hovers the double living area, allowing for natural light to come into the house rooms every day.
The kitchen and the entire open plan living area open up to the north to the indigenous garden and the swimming pool terrace. This way also allows people inside the house to enjoy the north view right from inside the living area easily.
