Located on a narrow plot near the shores of Lake Geneva, House on the Lake is a 2012 project completed by AUM Pierre Minassian for a couple with two children. This family house is entirely made of raw concrete except for its structure.
Materials
Sits at the foot of the plot, this house is positioned close to the shores of the lake. The contemporary and clean lines describe the exceptional landscape context, including the quality of finishes with raw materials: steel, glass, and concrete.
Rooms
There are two superimposed boxes in the volume of the house that are articulated around the living room’s double height. With transparent facades, the living rooms are placed on the ground floor of the house. These facades open to the outside through large bay windows.
The floor’s slender cantilever can shelter a terrace that extends the living room of the house towards the beautiful lake. Privacy in the upper space is protected by Corian® screens, letting the stunning views surround the house beautifully.
