It is an awesome house located between Albert Park and St Kilda West on the edge of Port Philip 4km from the Melbourne CBD in the bayside suburb of Middle Park, Australia. Designed by Jost Architects, Middle Park House has an original 1900s Bungalow Federation that had undergone a number of minor additions over the years. A modern extension is added to the rear area in order to reinvigorate this house.

The client wants to reinvigorate this house by adding a modern extension. This extension is added to the rear of the retained area of a heritage building. The addition of this house also includes a laundry, pantry, a new kitchen, along with a dining and living area that opens onto an outdoor courtyard and a small deck.

The rear entry is facing a new upper-level studio that sits over an existing garage. It also contains a walk-in robe, bathroom, bedroom, and a kitchenette. Some further alterations to this existing residence also include an ensuite, a new bathroom, and a walk-in robe to the master bedroom.

The additions get the benefit from the natural sunlight that controlled by large eaves and also natural ventilation with highlight louvre windows and glazed sliding doors. The external and internal materials are selected to be neat and durable. A subtle mix of simple textures and finishes allow for a contemporary aesthetic. This aesthetic sits within the existing house fabric.
