SEAT Leon e-Hybrid: Want the best of both worlds?

Seat Leon E Hybrid 3

The SEAT León e-Hybrid is the model with the most evolved technology of the brand to date. It is the result of an investment of 1,100 million euros that SEAT has made for its development and production. The León eHybrid integrates all the security, connectivity and efficiency systems that materialize the evolution of the brand.

The SEAT Leon combines SEAT’s design philosophy, which sets standards in the segment for safety, design, and sportiness. Designed and developed in the Technical Center that SEAT has in its Martorell factory, it is based on the MQB Evo platform. The car will also be produced at the aforementioned SEAT plant.

The fourth generation of the vehicle is the result of a new SEAT design concept, both interior, and exterior. Greater proportions, more defined front and smoother lines are its main characteristics.

The car arrives with different thrusters, including smooth hybridization and a plug-in hybrid. Furthermore, it is the first fully connected SEAT vehicle which includes In-vehicle connectivity including Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, connectivity outside the vehicle, an app to control certain functions, such as recharging the battery or the climate control.

The 75 kW plug-in electric motor combines with the 1.4 TSI motor to reach a power of 150 kW, capable of a system power of 204 horses. It will be equipped with a double-clutch gearbox.

The driver can choose between the fully electric mode, with a guaranteed range of over 50 km or the electric and petrol mode, to travel up to 800 km. Regenerative braking recharges the electric motor to give more power during the journey.

The SEAT Leon e-hybrid uses a 48 V alternator-starter and a lithium-ion battery, allowing the system to proceed with the engine off in some driving situations, recover energy when braking and support the engine with light electrical assistance. The company claims that the SEAT Leon e-Hybrid covers around 60 km without CO2 emissions.
