The Cresta by Jonathan Segal FAIA: A Single-Family Residence Constructed Out of Cast-in-Place Concrete

With 5300 m² in size, the Cresta is a single-family residence designed by Jonathan Segal FAIA. It is a single-family residence constructed entirely out of cast-in-place concrete. Located in the Lower Hermosa region of La Jolla, California, this residence also has a reflecting and swimming pool that has been integrated into the house’s overall design.

Y House by Steven Holl Architects: A Y-Formed House with Red Steel Framing and Roof

In collaboration with a local architect, Peter Liaunig, Steven Holl Architects has been completed a residential project in 1999 called Y House. This unique house is located in Catskill and designed in a Y form, splitting to form two arms and ending in balconies. The steel framing and roof are iron-oxide red, completed with white interiors and stained cedar siding.

The program of Hansen Residence is articulated in three pavilions: PLAY, LIVE, and REST. Designed by LA DALLMAN, this project is located along the Lake in Door County Wisconsin. The pavilions are designed and also shaped their natural affinities, what’s around or within them. An innovative truss roof structure is also used to create a clear volumetric interior.

Levy House by LA DALLMAN: Integration of Structure and Building Skin with Sculptural Characteristics of Landform

Located on one of the great, deep ravines feeding water into Lake Michigan, Levy House is a post-tensioned concrete and steel-clad residence designed by LA DALLMAN. This residential project is an example of the integration of structure and building skin with steel cladding components developed by the architect and regional metal fabricators. The main inspiration for the design comes from the sculptural characteristics of the landform.
