Ahead of the setting of generation, Lexus introduced the latest LX model which adopted the same base and features identical to the Toyota Land Cruiser.
The outer appearance of the 2022 Lexus LX model is emphasized on the side where the SUV has quarter glass and a different rear plate. The large spindle grille at the front and the wide LED light bar at the rear set it apart from the Land Cruiser, including the use of chrome for a more unique, premium feel.
Inside, there is a 12.3-inch touchscreen showing navigation and audio controls. Plus off-road details from the Multi-Terrain Monitor system. The 7-inch screen just below it provides quick access to the climate control system and can serve as a support screen for the Multi-Terrain Select feature that displays off-road data when driving.
The latest edition of Lexus LX receives the Ultra Luxury type with a four-seat arrangement for the first time since the line debuted in 1995. For added comfort, the independent rear seats can be reclined up to 48 degrees. With the push of a button, the front passenger seat can be folded to provide up to 1.1 meters of legroom, complete with footrests.
There are no significant changes under the hood. The naturally aspirated 5.7-liter V8 has been replaced by a twin-turbo 3.5-liter V6 shared with the Land Cruiser. The powertrain is capable of pumping 409 horsepower and torque 650 Nm. The unleashed power is then commanded to all wheels via a 10-speed automatic transmission.
This car is also equipped with a number of driving safety features such as the Multi-Terrain Select which was previously limited to the low range (L4), has now been expanded to the high range (H4).
Then there is also the Crawl Control feature that allows the driver to run the car at low speeds without the need to step on the gas and brakes, just by driving the steering wheel.
In addition, for off-road purposes, the 2022 Lexus LX also has a surround camera that is even placed at the bottom of the car. This serves to avoid the impact of rocks or other parts of the car that are prone to impact when engaging off-road tracks.
Regarding security features, the Lexus LX is equipped with a push-start button system with fingerprint authentication.
The car also packed the Lexus Safety System Plus safety features, which consist of the Pre-Collision System, Lane Tracing Assist (LTA), Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (with an all-tracking function), Road Sign Assist (RSA), Emergency Steering Assist, and BladeScan AHS (Adaptive High Beam).
