The current generation of the Range Rover Sport is nearing the end of its commercial life. Range Rover wants to close with a flourish with a special edition intended exclusively for the US market and based on the top-of-the-range SVR version. With the name of Range Rover Sport SVR Carbon Edition, it is one of the most exciting innovations that was presented during Monterey Car Week.
As can be seen, the Sport SVR Carbon Edition has a unique appearance of its kind, highlighted mainly by carbon fiber. The lightweight material was used for the engine hood and the entire roof panel. Both of these parts give the Land Rover SUV a unique look.
Moving on to the passenger compartment, carbon fiber was used in the dashboard and in the transmission tunnel, merging with the leather, almost as a single material. Compared to the original model, the Range Rover Sport SVR Carbon Edition appears to offer a more chic and elegant interior atmosphere.
Despite weighing over 2 tons, the special edition SUV still offers the high performance typical of Land Rover’s sportier models, as well as overcoming almost any type of obstacle off the asphalt.
On a mechanical level, there are no differences between Range Rover SVR Carbon Edition and the standard variant. This means that under the hood hides a supercharged 5-liter V8 engine capable of developing 575 hp of maximum power.
These numbers allow the Range Rover Sport SVR Carbon Edition to take just 4.3 seconds to go from 0 to 100 km / h and reach a top speed of 238 km / h.
Price and Availability
Unfortunately, the British carmaker did not disclose the price tag of the Range Rover Sport SVR Carbon Edition, but it is expected to exceed $ 200,000 (€ 170,346). As mentioned at the beginning of the article, this is a special edition reserved for the US market, so the kind will not be available in other parts of the globe.
