Winnebago Industries, Inc. is one of the most famous camper car manufacturers from the United States. The company based in Forest City, Iowa recently introduced Solis as the first Winnebago campervan with a Pop-Top roof.
Winnebago has previously launched a 4×4 Sprinter campervan that gets a lot of attention and received quite well on the market. The company was hoping to get the same reception with Solis as it offers more features including a pop-top roof.
The pop-top made of fiberglass is the first feature and is a huge differentiator for Solis and the other lineup from Winnebago. This roof is mounted with gas spring and can be accessed via a removable ladder at the front of the van, and when this roof is lifted it will create an attic that can accommodate two adults.
This campervan is built on the Ram ProMaster chassis which both uses a 3,600cc V6 petrol engine that produces 280 hp. The engine is then mated with a 6-speed automatic 62TE transmission.
The Campervan is designed to accommodate four adults on an outdoor adventure. Thus, this campervan is qualified to be the facilities for recreation with a bed for 4 people that can be turned into a sleep sofa with a seat belt for 6 people.
There is an additional second bedroom that can accommodate 2 people located at the back of the campervan, the bed is located on the sidewall with a table underneath, this table functions as a small work station. The pair of seats behind the driver and passenger seat can rotate to create a small dining room.
The kitchen is equipped with a refrigerator powered by a 12-volt compressor coupled with a 2-burner stove and a sink that has a water circulation. Across the kitchen, there are rooms with showers, closets, and hot air vents that can be used to dry wet clothes.
As a campervan for outdoor recreation, large and spacious accommodation spaces are needed to accommodate the items for recreation. Therefore, Winnebago provides Solis with abundant storage space such as a large cupboard above the kitchen, storage under the back floor, and a large storage locker under the bed.
The floor used inside the Winnebago Solis is a heavy-duty vinyl model that is strong and resistant to scratches and the company claims that it can be used for years. The addition of large solar panels. can be used to supply electrical energy.
Solis is designed as a campervan to provide a camping experience by packaging complete facilities and plenty of accommodation space in a small van, there are 2 exterior colors to choose from Bright White and Deep Chery. The campervan is marketed at $ 100,667 and will be available in 2020.
