After teasing the public through a teaser that was first publicized in August, Kawasaki has finally revealed the 2022 Z650RS. Without a doubt, Kawasaki confirms that 2022 is the year of Retrovolution.
In terms of appearance, the 2022 Kawasaki Z650RS inherited the visual from the Z family which has existed since 50 years ago. The design is also based on the Z650-B1 which was introduced in 1977.
Dimensionally, the motorbike is targeting young riders. It measures 2,065 x 800 x 1,115 mm (LxWxH), wheelbase 1,405 mm, ground clearance of 125 mm.
The retro impression is very obvious from the headlamp design. And don’t miss the horizontal diode lamp in the center of the main light, to give a modern impression. It also comes with a very iconic teardrop tank model and a minimalist rear body.
Meanwhile, the panel meter is in the form of an artillery shell with a dual analog style. It also has a digital screen in the middle. The appearance sector is also getting more attractive thanks to the adoption of golden multi-spoke rims. As well as round mirrors and a tiny fender in the back.
In harmony with the type of naked bike, the engine is completely exposed. The 2022 Kawasaki Z650RS packed an engine with a capacity of 649 cc two-cylinder DOHC, 8 valves liquid-cooled.
It is actually the same engine as the current Z650 and Ninja 650 has. The concoction of the diameter and piston stroke is also similar, 83 x 60 mm, with a compression ratio of 10.8:1.
The runway is tuned for maximum response at low and mid-speed, plus refreshing high-rev performance characteristics. The powertrain is capable of generating 68 HP at 8,000 rpm and 64 Nm of torque at 6,700 rpm.
