It is a 2019 residential project of a one-storey house by Paz Arquitectura. BF House sits on a unique piece of land in Guatemala. The owners of this house want to take advantage of the garden so a basement garage is built to save the garden area.
The land where this house sits is completely flat, a situation that makes the architect takes careful consideration.
The owners of this house want a one-storey house to get more advantage of the garden so a basement garage is built to save the garden area.
This house also has an “L” shape that frames the garden. The garden itself is bordered by a considerable mountainous space.
Functional and visual transparency is the main concept of this house design. In the social areas, the house spaces are interconnected clearly and at other points subtly. The bedrooms are located linearly in the long “L” shape of the house, closing at the end where there is the main bedroom.
A family room is the only space on the second floor of the house. The walls in social areas are vertical surfaces that are conceived transparent. The lower and upper edges are in glass to keep the continuity between the indoor and outdoor spaces.
