For the record, the application of the QLED panel on these two laptop products is the first time for any Samsung’s laptop. So far the use of panels with QLED technology has been limited to televisions made by the South Korean manufacturer.

In addition, the Galaxy Book Flex and Galaxy Book ION also support the wireless charging feature. Samsung claims the process of charging is easy jus like charging your smartphone wirelessly by simply placing the device on the pad.

There is also support for power share features or charging between devices like the Galaxy S10 and Galaxy Note 10. Both laptops got the tenth-generation Intel Ice Lake processors and are equipped with WiFi 6 and Thunderbolt 3 connectivity.

In terms of graphics, the Galaxy Book Flex and Galaxy Book Ion have been embedded with Intel Ultra HD and Intel Iris Plus which are able to handle graphics software and games well, but still, have an efficient battery power consumption.

Especially for the 15.6-inch model, Samsung put on the Nvidia MX250 graphics processor. The 13.3-inch model weighs 1.15 kilograms with a thickness of 12.9 mm. While the 15.6-inch model has a thickness of 14.9 mm and a 1.57-kilogram.

Samsung put on extra feature for the Galaxy Book Flex, that has the extra flexibility. The body of the screen can be rotated up to 360 degrees so that it changes to tablet mode because the QLED screen is also supported by the touchscreen feature.

The shell is polished in blue or termed as Royal Blue with aluminum material. The same material was not found in the Galaxy Book Ion. The latter series has a body made from magnesium with a lighter body. Thus, many predicted that the Galaxy Book Ion will be marketed at the lower price range.

Unfortunately, Samsung is still keeping the price tag of its new laptops close to its chest for now. What we do know so far is that, although the pricing has not been revealed yet, the company is planning to sell the Galaxy Book Flex and Galaxy Book Ion in December 2019.
