After recently launched the α6600, Sony instantly gets busy by dispatching another new mirrorless camera called the Sony α6100. Even though its specifications are below the α6600, the α6100 is still not inferior in terms of the features offered.
The Sony α6100 mirrorless camera is equipped with an Exmor APS-C CMOS sensor that is capable of supporting photo resolutions up to 24.2 MP with ISO range that can be used ranging from 100 to 32,000.
There is also a Real-Time Tracking feature on the Sony α6100 that relies on the help of artificial intelligence so that it can stay focused on the subject or object quickly even when it is moving.
This camera is also equipped with a wide Autofocus area and is able to reach 425 points so that it can get very fast focus in just 0.02 seconds. Interestingly, the algorithm from Sony can predict the location of the next subject.
Meanwhile, this mirrorless camera is also equipped with the ability to take continuous shots up to 11fps or still image up to 8fps. This makes users able to get photos with good focus even though the subject continues to move through.
There is also Fast Hybrid Autofocus feature which able to track the focus of subjects and objects quickly when recording video up to 4K resolution (3840 x 2160 pixels). According to Sony, this feature can produce a stable and smooth focus even though the object is passing in front of the subject.
The TFT screen of the Sony α6100 has a 3-inch span that can be touched by a finger making it easier for users to change various menu settings. The screen can also be rotated up to 180 degrees which will help users while taking selfies or recording vlog videos.
The users can also more easily aim at subjects or objects from low or high angles by tilting the screen at an angle of 74 degrees. Unlike the α6600, this camera still uses the NP-FW50 battery and is not equipped with an in-body image stabilizer.
As for the availability, the Sony α6100 can be ordered through official stores affiliated with Sony. This camera has a price tag of $ 649.9 for a variant kit with a 16-50mm f / 3.5-5.6 PZ OSS lens. The company claims that its latest mirrorless camera will be available in the near future.
