Located in a forest site 200 meters from the seashore of Kattegat, VIBO TVÆRVEJ is a 2017 project of a summer residence with 91 sqm in size. This eye-catching summer residence is designed by Valbæk Brørup Arkitekter, characterized by its unique vaulted steel roof and visible internal construction. For the interior, pine is used as the main material for the whole interior surfaces.
Design
Besides its vaulted steel roof and visible internal construction, this residence also has an extruded tube shape with a roof of rolled steel plates. These make the residence simple yet notable. The 8 arched steel beams can create a distinctive rhythm internally in the wood cladding interior.
Rooms
There are large windows along and at the ends of the residence, creating awesome views stretching from one end to the other, inviting the beautiful surrounding landscape inside the residence. Two ends of the house are bridged by the big open loft space. Daylight and functions float smoothly through the entire residence, creating an extraordinary spatial atmosphere.
There are three bedrooms and also a bathroom with outdoor bathing facilities counted as private accommodation of this summer residence. The main social space is highlighted by its high and vault ceiling with awesome views of the sky and treetops. The interior is all made of pine with an atmosphere, sound, and smell like being in a traditional cabin. There are cabinets in the corridor bordeaux, a dark-blue theme in the kitchen, and ocher tiles in the bathroom.
