In addition to the classic displays, for gaming and productivity, Dell has also decided to add its first portable monitor to the list. Dell C1422H integrates a 14-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) IPS panel in 16: 9 with a brightness of 300 nits, color coverage of 72% NTSC, refresh rate of 60Hz, and latency of 6 ms.
The outdoor monitor benefits from a ComfortView anti-glare treatment, which guarantees better readability in a bright environment (e.g. outdoors) than a glossy panel and reduces blue light emissions, protecting the eyes even after long work sessions.
Dell 14 Portable Monitor can be placed on a flat surface thanks to a support that tilts between 10 ° and 90 ° and can be adjusted according to the needs of the user and the activities to be performed. It connects to the notebook via the USB Type-C port (there is actually one on each side of the base) with support for DisplayPort 1.2.
As you can easily understand, the USB Type-C port has a dual function in this monitor: it allows you to power it not only through a direct power socket but also through the laptop to which it is connected (up to 65W) thus avoiding additional cables and also transmits the video signal making additional interfaces such as HDMI useless.
Dell C1422H is a useful solution for those who own ultraportables with displays smaller than 14 inches or low resolution, but also as a second screen in some businesses. It weighs around 500 grams and is fairly compact in size (only 4.95mm thick), so it can easily be slipped into a bag/backpack and used on the go.
Price and Availability
Guaranteed for three years and supplied with a carrying case, Dell’s portable monitor is already available on the US market since August 31 for $ 349.99. The latest addition to Dell’s monitor lineup is also available in Europe for €230.
