Last year, the release of Montblanc Summit 2 from Fossil received extra attention from gadget lovers all around the globe because Fossil, which was recently acquired by Google, became the only Wear OS smartwatch manufacturer carrying the newly released Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 3100 chipset.
What became a problem is, the official price of the luxury smartwatch is at the $ 1,000 mark which super price. But Fossil immediately moves heaven and earth by releasing Fossil Sport to the market just two months later.
This sport-themed smartwatch is the second smart watch after Montblanc Summit 2 which packs the best Qualcomm chipset. The price? $ 255, which is bearable for the majority of consumers.
As the name implies, the design leads to sportiness, with a choice of 41 mm or 43 mm in diameter. The casing is made of aluminum and nylon, while the color choices are available in six options: gray, silver, blue, red, gold, and rose gold.
For the strap, everything is made of silicon, but there are 28 types that can be selected, with variations in width of 18 mm or 22 mm. Overall, its appearance is quite minimalist, and its sporty aura is also supported by high water resistance. The touch screen itself uses a 1.2-inch AMOLED panel with a resolution of 390 x 390 pixels.
The feature is also quite competitive which bagging the latest generation of a typical smartwatch from Fossil Group. Heart-rate monitors are a standard feature, as are NFC and GPS. But still, the main feature on this watch is the Snapdragon Wear 3100 chipset.
Combined with a 350 mAh battery, this chipset is able to offer longer durability than the previous generation. Fossil claimed that Sport was able to operate a full day with heart-rate monitoring features and active location tracking. Ambient Mode is still available so that the device can last up to two days, even with limited features.
