Bose introduces the latest product in the soundbar category, Smart Soundbar 900. Present as the successor to the Soundbar 700, this high-end product offers a variety of excellent features including Dolby Atmos support.
Dolby Atmos Support
Bose claims, the Smart Soundbar 900 is able to offer spatial audio capabilities that exceed most soundbars with Dolby Atmos support. In addition, this soundbar can also create audio effects horizontally. What’s even more interesting, users can still enjoy spatial audio effects even if the content or movies they watch do not support Dolby Atmos.
The Bose Smart Soundbar 900 promises to have powerful bass performance and virtually no distortion thanks to QuietPort technology. There is also an Adaptiq feature that allows the soundbar to calibrate audio according to the room’s design.
The Bose Smart Soundbar 900 is about 5.8 centimeters high, a little over 10 centimeters deep, and about 104 centimeters long. So it fits under TVs that are 50 inches or larger. On the side, it has a surrounding metal grille, on top, there is a polished, impact-resistant hard glass plate.
The Smart Soundbar 900 also offers fairly complete connectivity including HDMI eARC, WiFi, Bluetooth, and the convenience of connecting with a subwoofer or rear satellite. Not to forget, Bose has also added support for Google Spotify Connect, and AirPlay 2.
Two voice assistants are on board: Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. Alexa allows the user to accept and make calls and use the exclusive Bose Voice4Video function, which switches a television to the desired channel or input with just one voice command. A detailed test has yet to show whether the Bose Smart Soundbar 900 ultimately delivers what it promises.
Price and Availability
For those who are interested, the Bose Smart Soundbar 900 is priced at $ 899. Reasonable price tag just like most of Bose’s other premium audio products. The soundbar is scheduled to be available on the market starting early October 2021.
