The Leica tradition of launching a camera with the Panasonic manufacturer’s camera platform continues once again. Continuing the success of the Leica D-Lux (Typ 109) which was launched in 2014, Leica has officially announced the presence of Leica D-Lux 7.

While on 2014 Leica D-Lux (Typ 109) the company adopted Panasonic Lumix LX100, the Leica D-Lux 7 now comes with the exact same specifications as the second generation Panasonic Lumix DC-LX100 launched by Panasonic a few months earlier. The difference between the two is only seen in the design.

Behind its retro-style body, the Leica D-Lux 7 is armed with a Four Thirds CMOS sensor with a resolution of 17 megapixels. This camera can shoot nonstop at 11fps and offers ISO coverage from ISO 100 to ISO 25600, and can record 30p video at 4K resolution (100Mbit in MP4 and AVCHD format).

Moving on to the lens sector, the Leica D-Lux 7 carries a 24-75mm lens with F / 1.7-2.8 lens aperture. With this focal distance, the lens will be ideal for shooting in a variety of shooting conditions.

As for the other features, the Leica D-Lux 7 comes with an electronic viewfinder, a 3-inch touch screen, Bluetooth, WiFi, USB-C that supports battery recharge, and supports the Leica FOTOS application.

There is this unique bit in the history of D-Lux, this time Leica chose the dual-tone colors, namely silver and black, similar to the old film camera designs. It is not yet known whether Leica will make D-Lux with other colors or not. Leica D-Lux 7 is available at a price of $ 1195.
