The Individual BMW customization division brags off their extraordinary capabilities by debuting the BMW Individual M850i Night Sky, the only BMW car that uses meteor rock in the component. Introduced together with the meteor shower on January 3, this unique coupé feature uses meteors in the interior trim.
The inside fragments have been ordered in advance, allowing BMW designers to state that this car displays materials outside of the Earth. Various exterior and cabin elements of the BMW Individual M850i Night Sky goes along with a galaxy theme.
In the special version of the M850i, consumers will find meteors embellishing the trim plate of the center console, start/stop button, gear lever and touch control system for the iDrive system. Next, the same material is used on the door finisher. During the design process, this car relied on the expertise of researchers at the Max Planck Institute for Extraterrestrial Physics.
Inside the car, there is a headliner specifically hand-sewn for their costumer. The Widmanstätten pattern appears on a pattern of embossed seams on the seat and headliner. BMW even combines the appearance of crystals into the brake discs and makes a special mirror cover to suit its appearance.
BMW Individual M850i Night Sky is more than now a car to show-off. This car also uses the brake caliper feature developed by BMW Motorsport which is 30% lighter than conventional components thanks to the 3D printing process. BMW said that each of the brake components has been reduced to the minimum amount of material that might be needed.
As for further luxury facilities, there are leather trims from the BMW Individual Merino with a three-color design and the Opal White / Midnight Blue / Silver color scheme. The interior is also equipped with Midnight Blue deep-pile carpet.
BMW did not say whether the M850i Night Sky was made based on customer requests or originating from the internal of BMW organization. With additional material from space, BMW still hasn’t decided what the right price for this car is, of course, the price will be more expensive compared to the BMW normal M850i which is valued at $ 112,895.
